The number of unemployed foreign workers in Spain has almost tripled since the start of the recession

Now represents 30% of the total number of foreign workers.

In absolute terms the number of unemployed foreign workers has gone from 380,000 to 1,095,300 since 2007. The numbers come from the Agett work agency.
 

14% of the total number of warehouses in the capital are currently up for rent, and in Barcelona the number is 19%.

Industrial energy consumption companies decreases 11,8% in 2009, as compared with that registered two years ago

Consumption of electricity represents 54.2% of the total energy consumption.

Industrial energy consumption exceeded 9,682 million euros in 2009. This item of data represented an 11.8% decrease as compared with that registered in 2007, the last year that this survey was conducted.

The main energy products used by industrial companies were electricity (54.2% of the total), gas (27%) and petroleum products (13.7%).

The average value of the mortgages constituted in 2010 decreases 7,3%, as compared with 2009, reaching 127.767 euros

The number of mortgages that change conditions decreases 14.1%, while registered cancellations increase 1.6%

During the year 2010, a total of 956,127 mortgages registered in the land registries were constituted on rustic and urban properties, which implied an 11.7% decrease, as compared with 2009. The capital of the new mortgage loans decreased 18.2%.

Spanish Vehicle Production Grows by 10% in 2010

The production of vehicles in Spain went up by 10% in 2010, with a total of 2,387,900 units manufactured. The manufacture of passenger cars accounted for 1,913,513 units, an increase of 5.6%.

2010 can be divided into two distinct periods for vehicle production. During the first six months of the year, the rate of production remained high, partly as a consequence of the impetus provided by incentive plans still in force in some European countries including Spain.

Spanish wages are reducing as the country’s productivity is increasing

The average wage fell by 0.4% in 2010, despite the year ending with 3% inflation. The numbers, from the National Statistics Institute, come as Germany is demanding that wages be linked to productivity instead of inflation.
